I'm really frustrated with my RAM situation. I have an MSI B650M-B motherboard that supposedly supports RAM speeds up to 6800MHz, paired with a Ryzen 5 7600 CPU that officially supports DDR5 speeds up to 5200MHz. Right now, I have 2x8GB sticks running at 6000MHz, and whenever I try to bump that speed up using AMD EXPO to 5400MHz, my PC crashes. I've already updated my BIOS, but that didn't help. Do I need to get 2x16GB sticks at 5200MHz instead? Is the issue more about CPU limitations than the motherboard? I'm considering upgrading the motherboard for better RAM support, but I'm wondering if I should first address the processor's specs. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

First off, what's the initial frequency of your memory? I suggest you try using the maximum speeds that your Ryzen 7600 can handle initially. If you're still getting crashes, running a memtest86 could help check for memory errors at their maximum possible frequencies.
Oh, and don’t forget to turn off the memory recovery option in your BIOS. I experienced long boot times with issues, but once I turned that off, my PC booted much faster, even if it needed to run at slower speeds.
Make sure to update your BIOS if you haven't already. Sometimes, if your RAM is newer than the BIOS, it may not support EXPO settings properly. Alternatively, you can manually adjust settings such as timings, voltage, and clock speed. Start at the advertised timings with a voltage of 1.4V and the default clock, and see if that works before trying to push for 6000MHz.
It could also be a power issue. The Ryzen 7600 should generally handle 6000MT/s RAM without problems. If you suspect your motherboard might be causing issues, it’s worth looking into that too.
