I've been struggling with my SSD lately. I was using Linux, but now I need to switch back to Windows 11. The issue is that every time I try to format my main SSD to GPT, it seems to work fine initially. However, when I go to install Windows, it fails, and then I notice that my SSD has reverted from GPT back to something else. Could this be a sign of a hardware problem? Any help would be appreciated!

Make sure your SSD is dedicated to the Windows installation. When you're setting up, use diskpart to perform a "clean" command on the drive. Just be careful to select the right disk, especially if you have multiple drives. If you continue facing issues even after these steps, there might be a chance the SSD is damaged.
It might be worth running a secure erase on the SSD before trying to reinstall Windows. This can help clear any persistent data or format issues. If the problem continues after that, it could indicate a hardware issue. Also, don't forget to check the SMART stats of your SSD to see if there might be underlying problems with it.
Always back up your data before altering BIOS settings or disk formats. It's a good practice just in case something goes awry during the formatting or installation process.
