I've been having an issue where my TV darkens after I turn it on. About 10 to 30 seconds after powering it up, the left side of the screen dims, followed by the right side around 15 seconds later. I'm not sure if this is a software problem or something else, and I could really use some help figuring out how to fix it. I'll add a photo for reference in the comments!

It sounds like there might be an auto-dim feature that's adjusting based on the lighting in the room. Have you checked your TV's settings to see if that's enabled? It could be affecting just one side of the screen for some reason, so it's worth a look!
From what you described, it seems like a hardware issue. The backlight could be malfunctioning, which can happen especially in older models. If your TV is over 5 years old, it might be time to consider a replacement; they don't seem to last as long these days. Plus, if it's broken, it might not be worth fixing.
Thanks for sharing the photo! It looks like the backlight might be failing, or perhaps the power circuit that controls it is acting up. If it's a hardware issue, I hope you've got a warranty, because repairs can be tricky!

Yeah, if your TV's about 7 years old like you mentioned, it might be better to replace it instead of trying to fix it. Just an idea—maybe your dad's the "I can fix it" type, but sometimes it's not worth the hassle!
