Lately, I've been experiencing a frustrating issue where my USB mouse stops responding intermittently while I'm using my computer. This happens very frequently, about every 20-30 seconds, and the duration of the disconnection can be anywhere from a split second to several seconds. I've already done quite a bit of troubleshooting to fix it, but I'm still stuck.
Here's what I've tried:
- Tested multiple mice (all show the same problem, no issues with other USB devices)
- Used the mouse on a different computer (works perfectly)
- Tried every USB port on my computer
- Disconnected other peripherals and tested each port individually
- Used both front USB ports and rear ones on the motherboard
- Completed a virus scan (no threats found)
- Updated Windows and various drivers
- Uninstalled and reinstalled USB drivers
- Updated BIOS and reset it
- Uninstalled and reinstalled mouse software (no luck)
- Disabled USB power saving feature
- Updated AMD chipset drivers
- Booted into safe mode (still had issues)
At this point, I think the problem might be related to Windows itself or possibly my motherboard. I'm considering reinstalling Windows, but that means I'll need to back up all my data first. For reference, I'm using a Glorious Model O mouse, but the issue persists with other mice too. My setup includes Windows 10, an AMD 5700x3d processor, and an Asrock B450 Pro4 motherboard. If anyone has any suggestions or insights into what might be causing this issue, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Have you thought about whether it's your PC that's stuttering rather than the mouse itself? It could be worth checking that.
I've monitored my CPU usage with task manager and process explorer while it happens, and there aren't any spikes in usage. Plus, when the mouse stops working, my keyboard still responds without any issues.
