I'm working with an older 1080p ViewSonic monitor as my secondary display and it's got two HDMI input options: 'HDMI PC' and 'HDMI AV'. The 'HDMI AV' setting makes everything look blurry and cuts off parts of the screen, which is really frustrating. I normally would just switch to 'HDMI PC', but the monitor doesn't remember this setting after I restart my computer; it always defaults back to AV mode. This wasn't an issue when I used it with my laptop, where it automatically set to PC. I have a new custom-built PC now, and both operating systems (I dual boot) have the same problem of reverting to AV mode. I suspect there's something in the computer settings that's causing this behavior. Anyone have ideas on how to fix it? The specific model of my monitor is the ViewSonic VX2260WM, if that helps.

Have you checked what GPU you're using? If it’s an Nvidia card, there's a setting you can alter that usually helps it register the monitor as a PC. That might fix the default input issue for you.
I've got an AMD 9070 XT in this build. My old laptop had AMD too—could that be part of the issue?
