I'm having a strange issue with my Windows 11 setup. I bought this HP Victus Desktop for work and gaming, and for the most part, it runs great. However, I've noticed that it tends to hang when I'm doing tasks that involve processing a lot of items. Some examples include:
- Viewing detailed settings in Firefox which renders hundreds of lines.
- Running into errors during web development that create recursive loops in the browser console.
- Opening large Excel files with thousands of rows.
During these moments, my mouse cursor still moves, but it's really stuttery and I can't click anything. Even CTRL+ALT+DELETE works but with a big delay. I checked the task manager and saw that my CPU, GPU, SSD, and RAM usages never spiked, some sitting at 0%.
Eventually, the tasks complete on their own if I wait, but sometimes the system slows down so much that I have to force shutdown. I'm really baffled because I can run demanding tasks like 3D animation or gaming without issues. Any thoughts on why this could be happening?

It sounds like you might be dealing with an issue related to your SSD or HDD performance. Long access times can be a sign of a failing storage drive, so I'd suggest testing those components first. Windows could be using the HDD for the page file, which might cause delays during those heavy tasks. Try running a disk check: open Terminal as Admin and type `CHKDSK /R /Scan`. It'll take some time, but it might help identify or even fix the problem.
I get your concern, especially since it’s a newer PC. The fact that other tasks run smoothly but these specific heavy ones cause a hang is definitely odd. You mentioned the page file is on your SSD, which is good, but sometimes unusual performance like this might be tied to how your drives are working under load. Besides checking for SSD/HDD issues, have you checked if your drivers, especially for the chipset, are fully updated?
