A user on a single-user laptop that is Entra joined and running classic Outlook is repeatedly getting a prompt to allow Autodiscover to configure Outlook for an unrelated user. This seems to affect only this one user. I've been searching for solutions but haven't found much information, aside from suggestions about caching issues. It's been mentioned that rebuilding the Outlook profile might fix the issue, but I'm curious as to why this is happening in the first place. Where is Outlook picking up a username that has no connection to the actual user?

I've encountered this issue when there are mismatched attributes in Hybrid environments. You should check that the UPN, Mail, Mailnickname, and TargetAddress (which is the remoteRoutingAddress in proxyaddresses) all align correctly.
We used to see similar prompts when users accessed someone else's calendar. It could cause periodic syncing in the background, triggering the autodiscover prompt. However, if the user has never accessed that calendar, it might be something else at play.
