Why Doesn’t CS:GO Load on My Linux Laptop?

I installed Steam and CS:GO on my Linux laptop running Pop!_OS, but whenever I try to load CS:GO, it crashes right after the Valve logo appears. Other games are working fine, but they're not specifically made for Linux and I'm running them through Proton. Is there something I need to check regarding drivers or settings? I have an NVIDIA GPU, by the way. (Sorry if my English isn't perfect!)

Keep in mind that not all games perform equally well on Linux. Some might require additional configurations or might not be fully optimized. Checking forums for specific tips on running CS:GO under Proton could make a difference!

Yeah, some users have also reported that using certain versions of Proton can help with stability. It's worth testing a couple of different ones!

And don't forget to check for any updates both for Steam and your OS. Sometimes, updates can solve existing compatibility issues!

Have you looked up your issue on ProtonDB? It's a great resource where players share their experiences and fixes for running games with Proton. That might give you some insights into what could be causing CS:GO to crash.

It might be a driver issue since you're using an NVIDIA GPU. Ensure that you have the latest NVIDIA drivers installed for better compatibility with games on Proton. It could also help to check ProtonDB for any specific tweaks that others might have found helpful for CS:GO.
