I've been wondering why OpenAI doesn't offer a way for users to access features like the new models, file attachments, or Operators by watching ads, similar to other paid services. It seems like this could be a great benefit for free users. What are your thoughts on this?

Offering ad access would be great for free users, but it could undermine the trust of those who pay for a subscription. Predictable revenue from subscriptions probably helps them plan better for the future, unlike ad revenue which can be unpredictable.
Honestly, they're probably avoiding ads because it just doesn't mesh well with the trust of paid users. There's a risk of upsetting their paying customers if they start blending free access into an ad model.
I really hope they don't go that route. Just imagine how many ads we'd have to sit through to access those advanced features! That doesn't sound like a good user experience to me.
It sounds good in theory, but they might see a lot of issues popping up. Plus, there's always a risk people could exploit that kind of system. Other companies might follow this model, but for now, we have alternatives like Gemini and others for those who can't afford the Plus version.
True, but don't you think free users should have some way to explore these features? Otherwise, it's just the basic model for them.
