Why is Apple Photos Creating Trips for My Home and Work Photos?

I've been having a frustrating issue with Apple Photos where it keeps creating new "trips" for every batch of photos I take, even if they're from my home or workplace. It's driving me nuts! I've tried deleting these trips, but they just recreate themselves whenever I recover the photos that made them up. I previously set my address to my dorm during my student days, and even though I updated my contact card after graduation, it seems Apple Photos still thinks the dorm is my home. I've attempted to fix this by removing and recreating my contact card, resetting important locations, and even doing a full reset, but nothing has worked. I suspect this might be an iCloud-related bug. Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any suggestions?

Yeah, Apple Photos can get a bit overzealous with the trip feature! If you don't like it, you can drag the trips option down to the bottom of your custom section and just ignore it. It seems like a glitch regarding your address—maybe your old dorm address is still registered, even though you've removed it from your contact card? That might be affecting how the app interprets your photos.

I think you're onto something! It definitely sounds like Apple Photos is tying the trips to old locations that you've used in the past, like those dorms. It might be worth double-checking if those locations are still flagged in your settings.
