I've always chosen to keep the memory feature disabled for security reasons, and I've preferred my interactions to be in English. Earlier, I received a notification indicating that ChatGPT has started memorizing my inputs. To make matters worse, the assistant seems to be responding in French, even though I have set my preferences explicitly for English. I live in France, but that's not my first language, and I don't want responses in French. This sudden change is confusing me. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I doubt there's a way for it to just change settings on its own. Most likely, it's linked to how the system interprets user data, including location. Hopefully, that gets sorted out soon!
That sounds really annoying! I mean, why would it suddenly decide to switch languages? It feels like it could be wasting resources by jumping back and forth between languages. Have you tried adjusting your location settings in your browser? Sometimes that helps reset everything.
It sounds like it might be picking up on your location, which could lead the model to switch languages. However, your settings should ideally take precedence over where you are. It's frustrating when updates like this happen without any notice, especially if they disrupt how you prefer to use the tool.
Yeah, it's probably due to the location features, but I agree—your preferences should come first. It feels like they're just experimenting with us.
