Why is it so hard to find a good email client on Linux?

I've been using Linux again after a long hiatus, and while I'm loving it overall, I'm struggling with email clients. I've tried several like Thunderbird, Evolution, and KMail, but none of them seem to work well with both my work email (MS Exchange/O365) and personal accounts (Live/Hotmail). I'm hoping to sync everything seamlessly, including calendars and contacts, without relying solely on webmail. What's the best desktop email client that can handle this?

Just a heads up: email and calendaring handle different tech under the hood, which is why it gets complicated with Microsoft's additional layers. You may want to use webmail directly for those.

You know asking a non-Microsoft product to integrate perfectly with Microsoft services can be tricky, right? It's a common issue since Microsoft doesn't make it easy for others to play nicely with their stuff.

Honestly, have you thought about just using webmail? I've been managing all my work emails through the browser without any issues. Outlook on the Web works pretty well for me.

If you haven't checked out Mailspring yet, it could be what you need. It has good integration features. Also, with Evolution and the Evolution-EWS addon, you should be able to get compatibility with MS Exchange.

Ever tried Proton Mail? They've got a pretty solid setup that covers what you mentioned. If you want something that works without headaches, it might be worth considering.
