I recently purchased two 16GB Crucial RAM sticks from someone online, but when I installed them, my laptop only recognizes them as two 8GB Samsung sticks. The seller mentioned that I should enable XMP to make it show as two 16GB Crucial modules. I'm really confused and concerned that I might have been scammed. The box says Crucial on it, but I don't know what to check or do next. Can anyone provide advice or insight on this situation?

Definitely take a look at the stickers directly on the RAM modules. If they're showing as 8GB in your system, you probably didn't get what you paid for. Also, posting a picture of the RAM might help others confirm its authenticity.
You might have been scammed, but don’t worry! Just remember that XMP is about speed, not capacity, and not all laptops support it. If it’s showing as 8GB, that’s likely what you have. Best to look into returning or disputing the purchase if that's the case.
It sounds like you might have been scammed, unfortunately. Enabling XMP is intended to help with RAM speed, not increase its capacity. If your system is showing two 8GB sticks in Windows or BIOS, that's not a good sign. Double-check the labels on the RAM sticks themselves to see what they actually say.
Yeah, I checked, and the stickers are blank. That's sketchy, right?
I'll try to snap a pic and share it. Thanks for the tip!
