Why is my 5080 GPU underperforming?

I've been noticing that my 5080 isn't performing as well as I expected while gaming, so I decided to run some benchmarks. Both FurMark and 3DMark results indicate that I'm likely in the bottom 1% for performance. I've got a 5080 Founders GPU paired with a 5700X3D CPU, 32GB of CL16 3200MHz RAM, and a Corsair SF750 PSU using a 12VHPWR cable in a FormD T1 case. The average 3DMark score for a 5080 is around 24800, but I'm only hitting 19800. I'm on the latest drivers (clean installed with DDU), GPU clocks look normal during tests, and both CPU and GPU temps are fine with the Resizable BAR enabled. I'm using PCIe Gen 4 with a Gen 4 riser cable. I just disabled a frame limiter, but I'm still pretty short on performance. My tests run between 250-280W at 100% GPU, which seems concerning. However, FurMark scores are now correct with the GPU drawing the full 360W. Any advice on where I should look next?

It seems like you might have had a frame cap on the 165Hz monitor that was affecting your benchmarks. Make sure that's disabled when you run tests. After turning off the limiter, you gained 2000 points but you're still on the lower end of performance. It’s worth considering if there are other bottlenecks. Have you checked your settings and made any tweaks to optimize your CPU performance further?

Thanks for the tip! I had no idea the limiter could affect the results like that. I'm still trying to figure out why I'm lagging behind the average scores. Any other suggestions?
