I recently built two PCs, one for myself and one for a friend. My friend's build features a 9800x3d CPU and a 5060ti GPU, while I opted for a 9950x3d CPU with a 5070ti GPU. Both systems have mostly identical parts. I chose the 9950x3d because it was heavily discounted, thinking there wouldn't be much difference in gaming performance. However, the results have been surprising. In PUBG, my friend gets around 400 fps while I only get about 300 fps; in CS2, he achieves 600 fps while I'm at just 350 fps. I've benchmarked my CPU, and it scores as expected, but I'm confused about why my performance is lagging so significantly. Any thoughts on what might be the issue?

Your friend's system seems fine, but getting 350 fps in CS2 with your setup is definitely concerning. You might not be fully utilizing the 3D cache of the 9950x3d. Have you checked your Windows power settings or made any tweaks to the CPU settings?
It sounds like your RAM settings could be off. Make sure they're configured correctly; sometimes that alone can make a big difference in performance.
Double-check that both of your RAM sticks are performing similarly. If they are, something might be off with how your system is handling the dual CCD. It's worth noting that the 9950x3d can underperform in some titles compared to the 9800x3d, but not by that much.
Also, is your installation of Windows fresh? Did you update your BIOS and chipset drivers? Don't forget to turn on the game mode; that can help too.
I think game mode was turned off; I'll check on that!

That’s a great point! Could it be related to the PBO settings in the BIOS?
