Why is my computer having such a tough time connecting to WiFi?

I've had this computer for a few years, and it's been struggling with WiFi connectivity since I first got it. When I was about 14, my mom gave me two little USB devices that were supposed to help with WiFi. After a friend helped me build a better PC, I carried those USBs over. It worked fine at home, but when I moved in with a roommate who has better internet, I realized my connection is terrible. I removed the USBs to test, and my computer couldn't connect to any networks without them. Lately, the issue has worsened, with my internet cutting out for over a minute while others connect just fine. I'm considering getting a WiFi extender but wanted to get some advice first before buying anything.

Sounds like your USB devices might be outdated or not powerful enough. I recommend looking into a WiFi/Bluetooth PCIe card for your PC—it'll make a significant difference in your connectivity. Your specs would help confirm this, but upgrading from those little USBs could really boost your performance!

Could you share what the USB devices are? If they're WiFi dongles, replacing them might be a quick fix. Plus, if your friend who built the PC is around, ask if they can help set it up with a better connection option!
