Why Is My CPU Performance Dropping After 30 Minutes of Use?

I've recently upgraded from a Ryzen 5 1600 to a Ryzen 5 5600 and made sure to update my BIOS and drivers using AMD's software. As I'm not very familiar with advanced tweaks, I followed some online guides to make safe BIOS adjustments for better performance, including enabling PBO and setting a negative curve optimizer for all cores. Initially, I was enjoying 120-144 fps in CS2, but after around 30 minutes, my fps tanked to 50 and then dropped to 20. I ran a stress test using CPU-Z, where my performance started at around 4300-4400 points but quickly fell to 800 points after 30 minutes, even with my CPU temperature steady at 36°C. Restarting the test brought my score back to 4400, but again dropped significantly after about 15 minutes. I'm confused as everything—temperature, core usage, and power metrics—seemed fine during the performance drop. What could be causing this issue?

Have you checked if you've applied thermal paste correctly? Sometimes, if it’s uneven or insufficient, it can lead to thermal throttling even if temps look okay overall.

Yeah, I used Arctic MX6, which is pretty thick. Is it possible for thermal paste to dry out on its own?
