Why is my desktop connected to the network but can’t access the internet?

I've got a desktop that's connected to the modem via an ethernet cable, but I'm unable to access the internet while all my other devices are working just fine. I've tried unplugging the ethernet cable and connecting via Wi-Fi, but the problem persists. I even updated the drivers, did a network reset, and reinstalled Windows from a USB. Despite everything loading normally, none of my apps or browsers can connect to the internet. Since I'm using a laptop right next to it without any issues, I'm convinced it's something specific to the desktop. Any suggestions or tips on what could be wrong?

Do you have a modem and a router? It's possible there could be a block specifically on your PC, especially if it's being treated differently by the modem. If you're using just a modem, try cycling the power on it or updating its firmware. And definitely look into any firewall settings that could be getting in the way. Those can sometimes cause weird connectivity issues.

It sounds like you're dealing with some frustrating issues! Since you've mentioned that all other devices are working fine, it might be worth checking if there's any VPN software installed that could be blocking your connection. Also, sometimes resetting your network adapter can do wonders. You might want to try that if you haven't already! Besides that, double-check your network settings to ensure everything is configured correctly for your desktop.
