I've been having a frustrating issue with my Windows 11 PC where it won't connect to the Internet. There's no connection option showing up in the tray. To resolve this, I bought an Ethernet cable. The router and PC indicators are on, suggesting a connection, yet when I look at the Hardware and Connection Properties, it states that the Ethernet status is "operational," but the connectivity status shows "disconnected." What could be causing this? I've already tried using both ends of the cable and rebooted my PC several times. Also, when checking the adapter settings in the Control Panel, there's nothing there. Any ideas?

You might want to double-check that the Ethernet cable is completely plugged in. Sometimes a loose connection can cause it to read as operational but still remain disconnected. It could also help to try a different Ethernet port on your router if available.
It sounds like a driver issue. Have you checked the device manager to see if there are any errors reported for the Ethernet or Wi-Fi drivers? Sometimes, a simple driver update can solve connection issues like this.
Another thought: If you've recently changed any BIOS settings or disk setups on your PC, it could affect network connectivity. Just be careful; such changes can sometimes lead to data loss, so always back up important data before tweaking system settings.
