I recently upgraded my PC with a Ryzen 7 7700X and a 7900XT, which has been running great until now. Whenever I launch a game, it starts off fine but after a few seconds, the FPS drops and caps out at just 8 FPS. Any ideas on what might be causing this issue?

First off, check if your monitor is connected to your GPU instead of the motherboard. Also, make sure your graphics drivers are updated. If they are, consider using DDU to do a clean driver installation. Sometimes overlays like MSI Afterburner can cause issues, so that's worth looking into too.
Given your specs, you shouldn’t be having issues, but how much RAM do you have? Also, what PSU are you using? Make sure you're using separate PCIe power cables instead of any pigtails, as that can cause power delivery issues.
I have 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 6000MHz, and my PSU is a RM750e Platinum. I'm not sure what you mean by ‘pigtails,’ though.
It might be worth checking for throttling issues due to heat. If your GPU and CPU temps are fine, that usually rules it out. But it's good to keep an eye on those during gameplay!
I checked the temps using Ryzen Master and the Adrenalin app while running games, and they were fine: around 45°C for the GPU and 65°C for the CPU.
My monitor is connected to the GPU, and I think my drivers are updated through the Adrenalin app. I suspect the issue could be from using MSI Afterburner’s overlay since it also capped the FPS at 8 when I turned it on.
