Why is my gaming laptop running low FPS after it died on battery?

Hey everyone, I've got a decent gaming laptop that usually handles everything great, but I accidentally played it without the charger plugged in until it died. Now, I'm experiencing really low FPS in games that used to run smoothly, and my GPU is maxing out at 99%, while the CPU isn't that high. I've checked that my graphics drivers are up to date, but it seems there's a Windows update that won't install because my laptop might not be supported anymore. I'm guessing it could be something with the thermal paste or another issue, but I'm not really an expert in this area. Any advice would be really appreciated!

As another user mentioned, check your power profile settings by right-clicking the battery icon and adjusting it accordingly. I switch my laptop’s settings based on my tasks too, switching to performance mode when gaming. It always makes a huge difference!

Have you made sure to plug it back in? Sometimes, just charging the laptop can help reset things, especially if it was running on battery power for too long.

Yeah, it’s fully charged now.

Double-check your power profile settings. Make sure that it’s switched to 'Best Performance' when plugged in, as that can make a difference in gaming performance.

I checked it and it’s on Best Performance now, but it hasn’t really changed anything.

It could be heat-related throttling that’s causing the FPS drops. Make sure the laptop is fully charged, and it should fix itself after a while.
