Why is my GPU usage low after a BIOS update?

I recently upgraded my system with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a GeForce 5070 FE. After setting everything up, including updating Windows and installing the NVIDIA app for the latest drivers, I also updated the BIOS on my MSI B850P Pro WiFi ATX motherboard. Since then, my GPU usage has dropped significantly—from around 98-100% to now barely reaching 40%, and my CPU is only hitting 30-40% at max. I even set my RAM profile to EXPO and made sure V-Sync is off with uncapped frames in the NVIDIA settings and in-game options. Initially, I was getting around 600-800 FPS, but now I'm seeing a drop of about 100-200 FPS with the same settings. What could be causing this issue?

It sounds like your system might be experiencing a CPU bottleneck, which can happen after a BIOS update if some settings change. You might want to check your BIOS settings to see if the CPU profile has been altered. Also, how are your temperatures holding up? That can sometimes impact your performance if they’re not in a good range.

My temps look good; they haven't gone past 70°C. I didn't really check the CPU settings before, though. Are there any specific profiles or settings I should look out for in the BIOS?
