I've been noticing a weird issue with my iPhone storage where the numbers just don't add up. I checked the storage settings and added up all the apps and visible items, but the total used storage shows much more than what I calculated. It feels like there's a lot of hidden data on my phone, possibly cached files or system data, but I can't pinpoint where it is. I've done the usual checks, but the numbers still seem off. Has anyone figured out how to fix this without doing a complete reset?

Hey there! It sounds like you might have some 'dead files' lingering on your phone—files that should have been deleted but aren't quite gone. There are storage cleaning apps out there that can help, but be cautious with those; some can be a bit sketchy. Have you tried restarting your device? Also, check if any system updates are pending. You might find some space by looking in the Files app, too. Good luck!
Don't forget to check your Messages app! People tend to overlook how much space that can take up, especially with all the photos and videos shared over time. It can be a real storage trap!
I'm using 240GB, even with 2TB on iCloud. All my photos and files are on iCloud, so I don't get why I still have that much local storage used.

I've looked through almost everything accessible. It seems like there are unnecessary junk files taking up space, but I can't find a way to delete them.
