Hey everyone! I just made the switch to fiber internet, and I'm excited about my new 150mbps plan. I have a 2017 MSI GE72MVR 7RG laptop that runs perfectly, but I'm facing a weird issue. While my phone gets super fast speeds—around 147mbps—my laptop is only pulling in a steady 26mbps. I've checked all running apps, confirmed with my ISP, and even updated my wireless drivers. My Windows 10 is up to date too. It's strange because the laptop should support higher speeds, right? Unfortunately, I can't run an Ethernet cable because of the fiber setup in my closet; it's impossible with my wheelchair. Any suggestions or troubleshooting tips would be super helpful! Thanks!

First off, double-check if you're measuring in Mbps or MBps; there's a big difference! 1 MBps equals 8 Mbps. If you’re sure it’s Mbps, have you tried connecting your laptop directly to the router with an Ethernet cable to see the difference? That might give you clues.
Yeah, I confirmed it’s Mbps. My phone reaches 169Mbps, but my laptop barely scraped 4.4 when I tried testing. They put my router in a closet, which makes hard-line testing a pain.
