I recently bought a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, but I've been running into issues with the speed. Currently, my laptop is only achieving download speeds of about 90 Mbps at best, and more typically around 50-70 Mbps. In contrast, my phone consistently gets between 400-500 Mbps on the same Wi-Fi network while sitting in the same room. I'm not able to get a refund on the laptop, so I'm hoping to solve this issue. Could it be that I just need to buy an ethernet cable or is there a free solution out there? I'd really appreciate any help or advice!

You might want to check if you’re using the right Wi-Fi drivers. Run a model check on your laptop or use spec-ify.com to get the specifics and ensure you have the latest drivers. Also, confirm that your laptop's Wi-Fi settings match your router's settings. Sometimes, mismatches in encryption types can cause speed issues.
First off, are you using the same speed test for both devices? Make sure you’re testing both your laptop and phone on the same platforms. Also, it might help to update your laptop's Wi-Fi drivers, which could resolve some speed issues. A lot of times it’s a driver update that can fix speed inconsistencies like this!
You can definitely update drivers manually! You can visit the Lenovo website, find your laptop model, and download the latest drivers directly from there. It’s usually pretty straightforward.

Yeah, I ran the Xfinity speed test and the Google test on both devices, so I did a fair comparison. But I'm a bit confused about updating drivers — is there a way to do it outside of just Windows updates?
