Why is my laptop so slow despite low CPU and RAM usage?

Hey everyone, I'm having a major issue with my laptop's performance. It takes about 3 minutes to boot from the password screen to the desktop, and even opening File Explorer takes around 45 seconds. My CPU and RAM usage are normal, but the disk usage is consistently at 50%. After a while, it drops down for a minute but then spikes back to 50%. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? Thanks for your help!

Could you share the details of your hardware? If you’re running Windows from a mechanical hard drive, that could definitely explain the sluggish performance. A lot of folks experience similar issues.

You might want to try using CrystalDiskInfo to check the health of your SSD. It could give you a better idea if there’s a problem with the drive itself.
