Why is my laptop typing the wrong letters and numbers?

I'm having a frustrating issue with my laptop where it types the wrong letters and numbers. For instance, when I hit 'o', it types 'q', but 'q' types as 'q' normally. Additionally, my Windows key adjusts the screen brightness instead of opening the menu, and the numbers seem all mixed up. I've run virus scans twice, but nothing shows up as malicious. Could this be a software or hardware problem?

It sounds like your keyboard layout might be off. If you're using Windows, try checking your keyboard language settings. Sometimes it switches to a different layout accidentally. Also, consider whether there's a chance the keyboard itself has a physical issue—like, did you ever spill something on it? That could cause keys to malfunction randomly.

I checked the settings and it looks fine, but I did spill some water on my keyboard a few weeks ago. That might be related, huh?
