Why is my M.2 drive missing from the BIOS boot priority?

I recently built a new PC with an MSI PRO B650-S WiFi motherboard and transferred my old M.2 SSD from my previous setup. This drive contains important files and has a Windows 10 installation on it. However, when I boot up my new PC, the M.2 drive doesn't show up as a boot option; only my other two hard drives appear. I tried unplugging the hard drives to see if the M.2 would be detected, but it didn't work. The good news is that the M.2 is recognized as a storage device. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

It sounds like there might be an issue with how Windows was set up on your old PC. Sometimes the EFI partition or boot manager can be on a different drive, which could be why it’s not showing up. Did you set up Windows in UEFI mode previously? That might help clarify your boot options here.

I’m not too sure about the setup on my old PC... I had someone else build it for me, so this is my first experience building one myself.
