My monitor has suddenly started acting up by going black and then briefly turning on before shutting off. I'm not sure if it's completely broken or if there's a way to fix it. It sounds frustrating! Just so you know, if none of the buttons work and you can't access the settings because it turns on for such a short time, that might mean the monitor is failing. The fact that you can't even turn it off properly suggests there could be a more significant hardware issue.
Try unplugging the HDMI or DisplayPort cable from the monitor so that there's no input at all. Then, turn the monitor on and see if you can access its menu settings. If the settings overlay still flashes or shows vertical lines, that’s a solid indicator that the monitor might be dead. If not, then we may need to explore other options.
