I connected my monitor to my laptop (a ThinkPad L14) using an HDMI port from a budget dock that has a USB-C male connection along with sockets for USB-C, HDMI, and USB-A. Initially, my dual monitor setup worked perfectly. However, the next day, the monitor that's connected through this dock showed a squeezed display—it's a 24-inch monitor, but there are about 2 inches of black space at the top and bottom, with the visible display in the middle being blurred. I haven't changed any settings, and I'm suspecting that the dock might be the issue. Is there a way to fix this without having to buy a new dock? Just to note, it works fine when I use the second USB-C port; the problem only occurs when I use the main charging port on the far left.

Have you tried using different HDMI cables? Sometimes, the cable can cause resolution issues like this, especially with cheaper docks.
This laptop has 2 USB-C ports, and I found out that the HDMI works just fine in the second port. It only has problems when connected to the main charging port.
