Why is my motherboard’s VGA debug light on without a graphics card?

I recently installed a new Asus Strix power supply unit (PSU), and I've noticed that the VGA debug light on my motherboard is illuminated constantly in white, and it's not blinking. I don't have a graphics card installed—should this light be on? The only change I made was swapping out the PSU.

It sounds like your system is booting fine, which is good news! The VGA debug light can sometimes stay on if there's no graphics card detected, especially if your motherboard is designed with that light as an indicator. Since you mentioned everything is working, it seems that it’s likely just a quirk of the setup without a GPU.

That makes sense! I had a similar experience when I built my PC without a GPU at first. The debug light was on but everything else was fine.
