Why is my Moto G Stylus battery draining so fast?

I'm dealing with a major issue on my Motorola Moto G Stylus, which I bought about three years ago (not the latest 2023 model). I usually run one app at a time and don't even use my phone too heavily. Lately, however, the battery has been draining alarmingly fast. At first, it was subtle, and I hoped it would last until the next billing cycle. Now, my battery drops from 100% to just 2% in about 8 hours! I activated Battery Saver mode right after charging it, but that only saved about 10%. I returned home today to find it at 12%, and I barely used it at work during the day—just on my breaks. My battery usage stats showed that 'com.google.android.gms.persistent' was running for over 9 hours, and Mobile Network Standby was active for 8.5 hours. I have a lock on my screen, so there's no way it was opened accidentally. What on earth is going on with my phone? Why is it draining like this?

Definitely sounds frustrating! You might want to check again for any background apps or services draining power. Sometimes, apps like Google Services can go haywire and stay active longer than they should. And yeah, if you're worried about a reboot, just be sure to let it sit for a bit if it takes a long time to start back up.

Hey! Here are a few things you can try: First, fully power off your phone rather than just restarting it to clear any stuck processes. Second, double-check that you don't have a bunch of tabs open in Chrome because that can really drain your battery. Also, if you're using Facebook, it’s known to be a major battery hog. If those steps don’t help, consider doing a factory reset after backing up your data. If you still face issues after that, it might be time to think about replacing the battery.
