Why is my Motorola Moto G Stylus battery draining so quickly?

I've been using my Motorola Moto G Stylus for about three years now, and it's really starting to show some battery issues. I usually only run one app at a time and don't use my phone constantly since I dislike it when it gets warm. Lately, though, I've noticed my battery drains way faster than it used to. I thought I could make it to the next billing cycle without a hitch, but now it's going from 100% to just 2% in about eight hours! I turned on Battery Saver as soon as I unplugged it, and it barely made a dent—only saved me 10%. I'm not even using my phone much; mainly just during my breaks at work. When I checked my battery usage, it showed that "com.google.android.gms.persistent" was running for over nine hours and Mobile Network Standby was at eight and a half hours. I have a password protection on my screen, so it's not like it's opening apps by itself. What could be causing this rapid battery drain?

Hey! Sounds like your phone might be having some background processes chewing through the battery. Here are a few steps you can try:

1. Fully power off your phone, then turn it back on. Make sure it's a full shutdown, not just a restart. This can help kill any lingering processes.
2. Check for lots of tabs in Google Chrome; they can drain your battery if left open.
3. If you use Facebook, it’s known to be a major battery hog—might be worth checking if it’s running.

If those steps don't help, you might need to consider doing a factory reset (just don’t forget to back up your data first!). If all else fails, replacing the battery could be your best bet.

I looked into my Chrome and didn't find any tabs open, but I’m hesitant to reboot since the last time it took ages to start back up!
