Why is my NAT type still strict even with UPnP enabled?

I've been troubleshooting my network connection and discovered that my NAT type is "strict." I initially thought UPnP was off, but it turns out it's enabled on my router. I've tried disabling it, rebooting the router, and then re-enabling it, but the NAT type remains strict. I'm wondering if the only solution left is to manually port forward? Also, does the modem have a UPnP option or is that typically just a router feature? I haven't checked the modem settings, so it might also have UPnP that isn't on.

You might be facing a Double-NAT issue. If you could check what kind of modem you're using, it might help identify if there's a setting to switch it to bridge mode. This can often resolve strict NAT problems.

I can't really check the modem myself. My dad is super paranoid about any changes to the network. I asked to log in, and he flipped out about his bank information being at risk. So frustrating!
