Why Is My New GPU Not Displaying Anything?

I recently installed a new GPU and was updating the drivers when my screen went black while creating a restore point. After waiting a bit, I switched to using the motherboard for display, but even after changing the drivers, I still can't get anything to show when plugged into the GPU. I can see a display when using the motherboard or integrated GPU, though. Any ideas on what might be wrong?

Try booting your system in safe mode with the GPU connected. This can help troubleshoot any driver issues that might be preventing it from displaying.

Are you connecting the display to the GPU or directly to the motherboard?
