Why Is My New PC Booting but Not Displaying Anything?

I've just built a new PC using an MSI 870e Carbon motherboard, a 9950x CPU, a 5070 ti GPU, and 64 GB of G.Skill RAM. The PC powers up, but there's no display. I connected the HDMI straight to the motherboard, but nothing happened. I've also tried reseating the RAM, which lights up, but I noticed that the GPU fans aren't spinning, although I'm not connected to the GPU anyway. The motherboard shows a digital status code of "41." Any suggestions?

Make sure your monitor is connected to the GPU instead of the motherboard. It might seem simple, but sometimes it’s easy to overlook. Give that a shot!

I tried that, and my monitor flickered on briefly but then said 'no connection' and went to sleep.
