I built a new PC a few months ago, and it's been mostly running smoothly. It has a Gigabyte 5080 graphics card, a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, and 32GB of RAM. However, today I've noticed that after it's been on for a while, the performance starts to tank, dropping to maybe 1 frame every few seconds. Everything becomes unresponsive—videos, games, and even opening or closing windows takes several seconds to reflect actions. The strange part is that the mouse moves just fine without any lag. I'm unsure what's causing this, and I couldn't find the right keywords to search online. This has happened twice in about 5 hours, and rebooting is the only fix for now. I checked the temperatures when it occurred, and everything seemed normal without any errors.

Have you tried rebooting your PC when this happens? It can help clear temporary glitches that lead to performance drops.

Yeah, it’s happened twice already. Rebooting is the only thing that fixes it, but having it happen twice in one day is concerning.
