Hey everyone! My girlfriend's PC has been bluescreening at random times since she moved into her new house. We initially thought it could be the RAM, but that wasn't the issue after testing. We noticed the computer doesn't bluescreen when plugged into different outlets at another house or even on another floor of her current place. All the upstairs outlets seem to share the same breaker, and we're concerned it might be a power issue. The landlord is coming by on Saturday, but we're not sure he understands how the power inconsistencies are affecting the PC. I have a couple of questions: 1. How likely is it that the power supply inconsistency is causing these bluescreens? 2. If the landlord can't do anything about it, would getting a UPS help solve the problem? Thanks for your insights!

Also consider the power supply unit (PSU) in the PC. Sometimes older or faulty PSUs can cause issues, especially after a power disruption. If it’s breathing its last breath, it might be worth swapping it out for a new one. If your lights are flickering, that’s a sign that the power might not be as stable as you think, even if it isn't visibly blinking all the time. A lot of modern PSUs handle bad power better than older ones, but it’s still a good idea to check.
The PSU is less than 2 years old, but she did mention the lights flicker sometimes.
