Why is my PC connected to Wi-Fi but not getting internet access?

I have an issue where my PC connects to Wi-Fi, but there's no internet access. I tested the Wi-Fi on my phone, and it works fine, so I'm not sure what's going wrong with my PC. I've tried installing new drivers and restarting the network settings, but nothing seems to help. My computer is about 5 years old, and I'm worried I might need to replace it if I can't fix this issue.

It sounds like there could be a few things going on. Since your PC connects to the Wi-Fi but you still can't access the internet, it might be a DNS issue or something blocking the connection. If you have antivirus software like McAfee, try disabling it temporarily to see if that helps. Also, check your DNS settings; you can manually set it to Google's DNS (8.8.8.8) and see if that resolves the problem. Let us know how it goes!

Here's a quick experiment you can try: put your phone in flight mode but keep the Wi-Fi on, and check if it still connects. If it does, then your Wi-Fi is working, and the problem might lie specifically with your PC's connection. Just a simple test to help narrow things down!

Yes, it still worked even in flight mode!
