I recently added some extra RAM to my PC and everything was working fine. However, I updated my motherboard's BIOS to the latest version, and now I'm hearing four beeps when I boot up, even though the computer starts without any issues. I'm unsure what could be causing these four beeps or how I can troubleshoot it further. Here are some specifics about my setup:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
- MOBO: Gigabyte B550M DS3H v1.0
- BIOS: Updated from vF10 to vF20g
- RAM: Added 2x8GB sticks to existing 2x8GB sticks
- GPU: RTX3070
I've already tried resetting the BIOS settings, replacing the CMOS battery, and testing the RAM sticks one by one in slot 1, but the beeping continues. Although everything seems to be running okay, I'm worried these beeps might signal a bigger problem down the road. Any advice?

The beeping is usually a code indicating an issue with RAM or the slots. It might simply be that the RAM isn't seated properly, or there could be a defective stick. I'd suggest trying to put back your original RAM in the original slots before reintroducing the new sticks. Make sure you’re using them in pairs, as some slots might require matching sizes. Even if the system boots, check your OS for the installed RAM to see if it's all recognized properly. Good luck! 😊
I'll give that combo placement a shot later. I checked the RAM in the OS, and it sees all 32GB. Is it possible to have it show as available but still get those four beeps?
