Why is my PC idling at 100°C despite cleaning and replacing thermal paste?

I've noticed that my PC is running at an alarming 100°C even when it's idle. I've already gone ahead and replaced the thermal paste and cleaned out any dust inside the case. I'm really not sure what else to try. Any thoughts on what could be causing this temperature issue?

Make sure to double-check if all your fans are spinning as they should and if your cooler is properly seated. Sometimes it could just be a simple installation error!

First off, could you share your specs? That might help narrow down the problem.

Also, check your cooling system. Are all your fans running properly? Sometimes a fan failure can lead to overheating without you realizing it.

Try touching the cooler while it's idling at 100°C. If it doesn't feel extremely hot, the temp readings could be off because of a faulty sensor. It might also be a bad connection with your CPU, especially since it's Intel.
