I'm noticing that my PC is sitting at a staggering 100°C even when idle. I've already replaced the thermal paste and thoroughly cleaned out any dust. What other steps can I take to resolve this issue?

First off, can you share your specs? Sometimes the components play a big role in heat management. Also, checking if your fans are running properly is crucial. Are all of them spinning like they should?

It might be worth checking your cooler. Even if it seems to work, touching it when you see those high temps can help. If it doesn't feel hot, that could hint at a faulty temperature sensor. Have you felt the cooler when it's at 100°C?

If your cooler only feels warm and not hot at all, that may indicate an issue with the temperature readings. Also, if it's an Intel CPU, watch out for possible bad pins on the motherboard; they can cause wrong readings.
