I've been hitting my desk out of frustration lately, and now my PC has started shutting down whenever I strike it hard. This is something that didn't happen before. I've already reseated the RAM and checked some connections, but I feel like I might have overlooked something. Any suggestions on what could be causing this?

First off, maybe try to stop hitting your desk? But in all seriousness, it sounds like there’s a loose connection somewhere. Make sure to check all connections besides the RAM. It could be a trigger that’s causing the shutdown when the desk gets banged.
The shutdown could indicate a problem with the wires or even the PSU. It's often just a loose power cable, especially if the monitor isn't turning off. Check everything thoroughly; sometimes the loose connection isn't obvious at first glance.
You might want to look into a mechanical issue with the power button itself. If you can, disconnect the power button's header and see if your rig still shuts down when you hit the desk.
Good idea! I’ll give that a shot.
I had a similar problem that turned out to be a faulty PSU. Before going down that road, though, definitely make sure all your cables are secure. If they are and it’s still an issue, it might just be time for a new power supply!
Having a PC that shuts down due to noise sounds hilarious! But seriously, if this is a new issue, it could be a loose power connection. Double-check the PSU cables and make sure everything is seated correctly. If nothing seems off, there's a chance your power supply might have an issue.
I'll definitely look into the power connections again. That makes sense.

I'm planning to check everything again later today, just in case I overlooked something.
