I've been using the same modem and router for six months without any issues on my other devices like my phone, TV, and laptops. However, my PC, which is connected via Ethernet, has started to struggle with internet speed. For the past week, the connection is inconsistent—sometimes it's fast, but often it's really slow. Websites take forever to load, and videos buffer constantly. Other applications on my PC work smoothly, but I keep getting kicked out of online games due to poor connection. I've checked everything, including being up to date on Windows 11 and flushing the DNS, but nothing seems to fix it. Any ideas why it's just my computer?

Yeah, the Microsoft Defender scan should be fine for that. Just make sure your PC isn’t running any hidden applications hogging your bandwidth. It doesn’t hurt to check your task manager and see if anything looks off.
Have you tried restarting your modem and router? Even though other devices are fine, sometimes the router needs a reboot to refresh the connection for each device. Also, are you gaming on those other devices? If not, that could affect bandwidth too.
Running a thorough virus scan might help, just in case something's using up a lot of your internet data. It could also be a sockets issue with Windows, but I’m not really up to date on that. Have you checked if there are any background updates running? They could slow things down.
