I just built my new PC, and I'm excited about it! Here are the specs:
- GPU: RTX 5070 Ti
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700
- SSD: Kingston Fury Renegade 2TB and Samsung 990 Pro 4TB
- RAM: 32GB DDR5 at 6000 MHz
- PSU: MSI MAG 750W GL
- Additional: Elgato 4K60 Pro capture card and 4 fans (3 intake, 1 exhaust).
I'm using it mainly for gaming, editing, and recording gameplay with a microphone and webcam. Everything seems to work well, but I noticed that my BIOS startup time is about 73 seconds, which really worries me.
A friend with an older Intel system had a startup time of about 13 seconds, and even after upgrading, his time went to around 15 seconds. I currently have the NVIDIA App as my only startup program and not many other apps installed (around 15 total).
Is something wrong with my setup? If so, what should I check first? Or is it normal for my system?

Honestly, the long boot time you’re seeing is pretty typical for new builds with this generation of hardware. It's normal for your system to take longer during initial boots. As long as everything is running fine after you’re booted up, it’s likely nothing to worry about!
Your long boot time is probably due to the memory training process that AM5 platforms go through. It's pretty common and not necessarily a sign that something's wrong. A lot of users report long boot times, but if you enable the Memory Context Restore in the BIOS, it might speed things up. Just make sure to keep an eye on the stability of your system after making changes!
Yeah, I heard about the AM5 memory training too. Just make sure you’re okay with the longer boot as long as your PC performs well!

This is solid advice! I enabled Memory Context Restore in my BIOS and saw my boot time drop to 11 seconds. Just make sure your system is stable after these tweaks.
