Why is my PC taking so long to complete memory training with my 9800X3D?

I've got a new build with a 9800X3D CPU and two 16GB G.Skill Flare X5 RAM sticks. I enabled EXPO 1 to run my RAM at the advertised speed of 6000MHz, but now my PC takes about a minute for memory training before it can boot up. This has been happening since I built it. If I turn off EXPO, the issue goes away, but I want that maximum speed. I had a different bundle before that was fine initially but started the same memory training problem, so I switched it out. I've also updated my BIOS on the ROG Strix X870E-E. Should I consider replacing my CPU, or is there another underlying issue?

Are you allowing the memory training to complete each time? It might take some time initially, like 20 minutes or more, especially after a power outage or BIOS upgrade, but it should stabilize after that.

Memory training is standard for DDR5. However, it shouldn’t take a minute. For me, it only takes about 15-20 seconds on a cold boot with 32GB of RAM and a 7800X3D.

The memory training at first is expected. Try turning on memory context restore in your BIOS. This option can significantly reduce your boot time.
