Hey everyone! I just upgraded my graphics card from an RTX 3060 to an RTX 5060 Ti, hoping to boost my gaming experience. However, I ran into a weird problem while trying to play Oblivion Remastered. My CPU (Ryzen 5 5600G) hits 100% usage right at the start, while my new GPU barely gets touched, barely even rising above 30-40%. I tried a few fixes like setting Oblivion to run on the GPU, switching display cables, rolling back to older drivers, and even disabling the integrated graphics. I even put my old GPU back in, thinking it might be a bottleneck issue, but the same thing happened – the CPU just hogs all the processing power. I've looked for help online, asked a couple of friends in IT, and I'm really stuck. Is there anything else I can try that might fix this, without having to reinstall Windows?

Have you tried playing other games to see if it’s just Oblivion? Sometimes older games can have their own performance issues that can make it seem like your PC isn't handling things right.
Oblivion does have a reputation for shader pre-caching, which can literally spike your CPU usage. It might be worth checking if there are any in-game settings or patches that can help optimize the load during startup.
You should definitely try using DDU to completely remove Nvidia drivers before reinstalling them. Sometimes leftover files can cause the GPU not to operate properly. It can really help clean up any driver issues you might have.
Did you fully disable the integrated graphics in the BIOS? Just doing it in the device manager can sometimes be hit or miss. Also, I’d recommend checking out the settings there to ensure everything is configured correctly. You might want to consider getting a Ryzen 9, too, but that may not fix the immediate issue.
It sounds like your CPU is getting bottlenecked by the game. If you've already tried everything else, maybe looking into optimizing game settings could help too. Reducing some of the visual effects might ease the load a bit until you can upgrade your CPU.
Yeah, I tried disabling the integrated graphics in the BIOS and device manager, but it didn’t help.
