I recently helped my neighbor reset his Redmi Note 14C, but now it's asking for a PIN that he claims he never set up. I originally set up the phone for him when he bought it, and he insists there's no PIN. Is there a way to bypass this lock without using the mail recovery option? I've tried common default codes like 0000, but those didn't work either. Any suggestions?

It sounds like your neighbor might have forgotten about a PIN he set up earlier or maybe someone else set it without him knowing. Factory resets usually don’t set a device to a default mode like that without a reason. Unfortunately, if there's a lock, there’s not much you can do to bypass it without going through the official recovery process. It's really important to have the correct PIN to access the phone.
Honestly, you might be out of luck if standard codes aren't working. If you can't use the mail recovery method, the best option might just be to get in touch with customer support for Redmi or check their official website for any solutions. Otherwise, your neighbor may need to remember that PIN, even if he thinks he never set it.
