I'm really confused and need some help. My husband and I have a Roku, and it reset itself last night, which meant I had to rearrange apps and log back into everything. Here's the weird part: when I tried to log into certain apps with our information, they automatically opened on my brother-in-law's accounts! We've never had him use his details on our Roku, except for HBO, which we share. What's going on? It freaks me out, especially since he lives eight hours away and we've had concerns in the past about security. How is it even possible for us to access his accounts like that? And what if they have access to ours?

You should confirm if your Roku is connected to your brother-in-law's account. Also, be cautious about any devices you may have given away or loans. If they’ve used your email for any reason, that could be the cause of the cross-access.
Totally agree; verify that you're not sharing any accounts accidentally.
It sounds like you might be logged into the wrong Roku account. When you set up your Roku, it signs into an account that manages settings across devices. Check in Settings under System -> About to see if it's linked to your brother-in-law's account instead of yours. If it is, log out and re-link it to your own account to stop this from happening.
Thanks for the tip! I'll check that as soon as I get home.
Definitely a good move. Make sure all your apps are signed into your own accounts too.
If your Roku is showing your brother-in-law's accounts, they might be using your husband's email on their Roku. It could be a good idea to have an open chat with them about it, just to clarify.
Do you really think it could be that simple? I’d hate to confront them without being sure.
Definitely ask, it’s worth figuring out this weird issue!

That makes sense. I don't think any of our devices are mixed up, but I'm going to check everything!
