Why is my Ryzen 9 9900X3D showing as 6 cores and 12 logical processors?

I'm having trouble with my Ryzen 9 9900X3D processor. In the Windows 11 task manager, it states that I have 6 cores, 12 logical processors, and 96MB of L3 cache. However, it should actually have 12 cores, 24 logical processors, and 128MB of L3 cache. I've ensured that my chipset drivers are up to date and I'm running the latest version of Windows 11. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on?

Have you enabled the X3D turbo mode yet? That setting can sometimes make a difference in how the processor functions.

Haha, after 25 years of building PCs, I’m feeling like a newbie myself. Can you help me locate this option in the BIOS on my Asus motherboard?

You should definitely check your BIOS settings. The dual CCD configuration on X3D processors has a "game mode" that can disable one of the cores without the X3D cache. That could explain the core count you're seeing.
